H.E.A.T. has had a voice with both Municipal and Provincial Governments for over 30 years and are called to the table to share our experience on a regular basis. Our Board of Directors and our Manager of Stakeholder Relations have over 100 years experience between them and are available to answer industry-related questions for Trucking/Contractor Members. Our Board of Directors commit their time each month because they want to see a strong community of companies. We strive to create a safe and healthy work environment where success comes from working together instead of against each other. This can be accomplished when we share information and understand our costs.
Our Specialty Equipment Catalogue is a great way to make sure that your equipment is getting called to jobs. As our Association continues to grow, we hope that our website will grow to be the #1 place that companies or municipal governments refer to when looking to hire equipment in Manitoba.
It’s all who you know!! So much of your business will come about from a previous contact. Weather plays a big role on a day-to-day basis in our industry and it’s not uncommon to have to look for work when a project gets canceled at the last minute. Aggregate companies often get large orders and have to scramble for extra trucks. Are they familiar with your company? General Questions
Our Contractor members are anyone who do roadwork, aggregate hauling, snow removal or related services. Our Associate members are those who provide services or whose target market is companies that do work in heavy equipment or aggregate hauling, and our Municipal membership is for cities, towns or municipalities who want to take advantage of industry resources and connect with new contractors who can provide services to them.
Memberships run on a calendar year. We don’t pro-rate, but if you purchase your membership after October 1st, , you’ll receive the balance of the current year at no extra charge, and your membership fees will apply to the following year.
No, but we assume you still want to be a HEAT member unless you tell us otherwise and will be sent an invoice in November/December for the upcoming year. You can pay by cheque, credit card, EFT or e-transfer.
Upon receiving your application, we will reach out to get any additional information we need from you and let you know how you can start benefitting right away. New members are announced in our weekly newsletter and have the opportunity to create a member spotlight profile for a future newsletter.
Reading our “Wednesday Weekly” newsletter is the best way to stay informed about what is happening with HEAT. Every week we share what is happening in the industry, offer great guest columnists and let you know what opportunities are available to you. You can also access or website at any time to learn what is new with HEAT!
We can only have one contact on the website, but you are welcome to provide additional contacts that receive our weekly newsletters – we don’t want anyone to miss out on all of the great information being shared weekly with our members.
HEAT memberships are transferable if the business is bought out or merged but are not transferable among persons who move companies.
Visibility / Advertising Questions
Yes – your online profile becomes active right away. If you purchase membership after April 30th, however your information may not make it to the printed directory until the following year. New books are delivered to you early summer.
We have lots of great ways to increase your visibility among our members. If you have a specific goal or target market, let us suggest the right opportunity.
Networking Questions
All member companies receive two complimentary tickets to our Annual General Meeting, held in March of each year. Multiple other paid and free events vary from year to year. If you enjoy golfing, you definitely don’t want to miss out on our amazing tournaments.
