Greetings to All Our Association Members,
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Sold-Out gala dinner event! This evening wouldn’t have been possible without your support and the incredible generosity of our sponsors. I’d like to give special recognition to our admin team—Shannon, Maureen, and Jenna—for their tireless work in organizing the event, managing ticket sales, and coordinating our sponsors’ contributions, from sponsorships to prizes.
The night was packed with highlights: the live performance by the band Almost Famous, a fun photo booth, an exciting casino setup, a martini bar, after dinner liqueurs and fantastic prizes. The table settings and meal were outstanding! I strongly encourage everyone to secure tickets early for the 2025 Gala—this is truly an event you won’t want to miss.
Joe Aiello did an outstanding job as the Master of Ceremonies, while Minister of Infrastructure Lisa Naylor and Deputy Minister Ryan Klos, joined by other executives from Infrastructure, offered warm greetings on behalf of the department. They shared with me their appreciation for the event and expressed how much they value the positive relationship between our Association and the department.
During the evening, I had the privilege of speaking with both the Minister and Deputy Minister and introducing them to many of our members. Events like these are all about networking and strengthening our connections. I also addressed the audience on behalf of our membership, emphasizing the crucial role our association can play in keeping Manitoba’s highways—particularly the Perimeter Highway—operational 24/7/365. As one of the province’s key economic arteries, it’s imperative that the Perimeter Highway remains open. Our members have the expertise, equipment, manpower, and resources needed to make this a reality.
I conveyed a clear message to the Minister and her team: our Association is ready and equipped to ensure Manitoba’s highways are accessible year- round, free of snow and ice, and sanded or salted when needed. We will continue to champion this cause and ensure that our commitment is recognized and acted upon at the legislative level.
Our thanks also go out to Kevin Mantie and his team from Motor Carrier Enforcement, who are providing education on a regular basis for our members. They participated in our two October events at Norsemen Auction Inc. and at Fort Garry Industries. Their team spent hours with our members and other industry professionals who took the time to learn about roadside inspections and what the MCE officers are looking for when they pull a truck over. We appreciate all of you for your willingness to work together as industry and engage in positive conversations.
Thank you all once again for your support. We look forward to keeping you updated with further information that will be of great value to our members.
Warm regards,
Bruce Henley
