Greetings to the Membership,
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who sponsored, attended, and helped organize our recent Gala Dinner. What a fantastic evening! The room looked amazing, the prizes were excellent, and the band did an outstanding job. We were also honored to have the Minister of Infrastructure, Lisa Naylor, in attendance, along with Deputy Minister Ryan Klos and her special assistant from the department.
Adding to the evening’s significance, Chief Kevin Mantie and Paul Laporte from Motor Carrier Enforcement attended in full-dress uniform. On behalf of myself and the entire Executive, I want to express how proud we are that our Association received an award from the Motor Carrier Division and the Province of Manitoba during their 100th Anniversary celebration. This recognition truly reflects the strength of the relationships we’ve built and the hard work our members and leadership have put into fostering meaningful partnerships with these departments.
I would also like to provide an update from our Snow Standards Committee, led by Michelle Magdic with the guidance of our Board members. We’ve been engaged in high-level discussions with the Province regarding our Association members’ potential role in helping keep the Perimeter Highway (PTH 100) open 24/7 during the winter months. While discussions are still preliminary, we’re collaborating on defining a pilot project area and developing a scope of work and tender specifications that align with provincial priorities. We’re hopeful to see progress on this initiative before the end of 2025 so that implementation can begin this season.
As we head into the winter season, let’s stay optimistic for a year full of opportunities that will keep our members’ equipment active on City, Provincial, and private projects.
