This is your last chance to submit an application to join the 2024-2025 HEAT Board of Directors. Elections will be held at our AGM on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 at the Club Regent Casino Hotel, 1415 Regent Avenue West, Winnipeg, Manitoba. More information on the meeting and how to register will be provided in the following weeks.
Members or employees of member companies interested in joining the 2024-2025 Board of Directors must apply by following the process below:
1. The person must fill out the Board of Directors application form and submit it by Friday, March 29th, 2024.
2. The person must be nominated by a HEAT Member company in good standing (this can be your own company)
3. The nomination must be seconded by another HEAT Member company in good standing.
4. Members must be in good standing by 4:00pm on April 1, 2024 for nominations to be valid.
There are currently four (4) open seats to fill with a Contractor Position.
The following Board of Director Contractor Members whose term will be expiring and are up for re-election in 2022 are as follows:
- Greg Parson, Within Reach
- Darren Barnhart, Barnhart Transport
- Dale Omeniuk, Dale Omeniuk Transport
Greg and Dale have both chosen to put their name forward for re-election. Darren Barnhart after 20 years on the board, many of those on the Executive Committee as our Treasurer has chosen not to put his name forward.
In addition, Martin Gurtman will be resigning his seat on the Board of Directors. Martin has served on the Board for 9 years and has also sat on the Executive Committee, most recently as President.
Both Darren and Martin will be missed and we thank them for not only their years of service, but also for their leadership over those years.
There is currently one (1) open seat to fill with an Associate Member Position.
The following Board of Director Associate Member whose term will be expiring and are up for re-election in 2024 is:
- Michelle Magdic, BFL Canada Insurance Services, Inc.
- Michelle has also put her name forward for re-election.
If no applications are received, the three (3) Directors noted above will be re-elected. If more than two (2) Contractor/Trucking Members are nominated or any Associate member nominations are received, a vote will take place.
As of Wednesday, March 27th, we have received one (1) application from a contractor member.
