COURSE CONTENTS
Introduction to The Industry (what are employers looking for, types of materials, customers) Maintenance & Safety Inspections (PPE, inspections, hand signals, hooking/unhooking trailers, PTO info)
Driving (driving on construction sites, in adverse conditions, etc.) Documentation (what this industry requires) Best Industry Practices (tips, need to know, industry specific info)
Money Management (fuel efficiency, idling, productivity, bottom line) Personal management & Development/Interpersonal Relationships (professionalism, stress
management, handling change, communication skills, reducing workplace injuries)
Basic repairs: fixing air lines, cage brake pots, tarps, unthaw valves, park region, etc.
Emphasis on diagnosing issues so that you can relay to your mechanic what the issue is.
The opportunity to spend the day in a truck with an experienced, professional driver will be offered to all participants who would like to learn more.
