Greetings to the Membership,
First off – what a fantastic turnout at our 9-hole golf tournament! Our staff and sponsors outdid themselves. Bel Acres proved to be a beautiful course, and with the “Mardi Gras on the Green” theme, the day was a tremendous success. The weather cooperated, our sponsor holes were excellent, the food and drinks were top-notch, and the prizes were outstanding. Most importantly, there was a tremendous amount of networking, and everyone was wrapped up and gone by 6 p.m.! Thank you all for supporting this event. We’ve already booked the course again for September 2026, and we look forward to seeing you there!
On another note, in July I sent two young team members to the Motor Carrier BBQ event hosted at Peterbilt. This event gave members and others the opportunity to see first-hand what to expect when interacting with Motor Carrier officers during enforcement. The feedback was excellent — the 90-minute free educational session gave them valuable tools and confidence to carry out their responsibilities on our roads and highways.
That preparation was put to the test during the last week of August when a CVSA targeted enforcement was underway. My employees were pulled over in a 5-ton stake truck and directed to the inspection area. I’m pleased to report they received a solid pass with the official stickers and documentation. The takeaway: this was time well spent, and the training delivered exactly what we had hoped. It was a great example of teamwork between Motor Carrier, your HEAT executive, and administration.
Finally, please be sure to register and secure your tickets for our upcoming “Vegas Night” – Fall Banquet on October 18th. This evening is always a highlight of the year — a chance to reward your staff, family, and friends with an outstanding evening of fun and entertainment. We look forward to seeing you on the 18th!
